Organization adds the Veteran Empowerment Organization (VEO) to
its DLH Cares Community Outreach Program.
Atlanta, Georgia - February 19, 2013 - DLH Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: DLHC), a
leading healthcare and logistics services provider to the Federal Government,
including the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, announced today that
it is furthering its community outreach initiatives through the addition of the
Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO) - an Atlanta, Georgia-based non-profit -
to its DLH Cares Program. The company's first initiative with the VEO is
sponsoring a homeless veteran for rehabilitation and reintegration as part of
their Adopt-a-Vet Program.
DLH Executive Vice President, Col. John Armstrong (US Army, RET) commented: "The
VEO has an exceptional mission that is close to our heart; their pledge to
rehabilitate and reintegrate homeless veterans back into society is a key
component of our own community outreach initiatives and is a critical issue
facing veterans today. Our commitment to Adopt-a-Vet is the first step in our
partnership with the VEO, and we look forward to many years of support
together."
Zachary Parker, President & CEO added: "It is important to bridge the gap
between our homeless veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs. These men
and women are living on the streets and they have no way of accessing the
benefits to which they are entitled for their service to our country. We must
help to not only meet their basic needs but also provide the support these
individuals need to become productive members of society once again. The
relationship with VEO will become an important component of our DLH community
outreach program - DLH Cares."
Along with the VEO, DLH proudly supports other veteran outreach organizations
such as Hero Health Hire, Hope for the Warriors®, and Operation Homefront.
Additionally, DLH actively participates in volunteer activities at its locations
throughout the U.S. and is committed to making a positive impact in their local
communities.
