DLF Foundation lends a promising hand in rehabilitation activities post conflagration in Vasant Kunj

Set to release second lot of restoration kits to needy slum dwellers

New Delhi, April 29, 2014: .

The foundation is set to release the second lot of restoration kit to the slum dwellers that will comprise of reading material for children, ration and other essentials to keep up with the needs of the sufferer families. Through its partnership with IGD (Institute for Global Development), the foundation is setting up medical camps in the area and will continue to do so till the time families get complete relief. Through this welfare initiative, DLF Foundation has once again raised the bar to become one of the top humanitarian organizations to extend a fine tuned timely help to the needy slum dwellers who

became a victim of this incident.

As part of the relief effort, the move aims at benefitting 150-200 needy slum dwellers, where basic requisites such as mosquito repellants, bed-sheets, shoes, slippers, floor mats etc have been supplied to them, over and above clothes & medicines. This move aimed at providing disaster relief & restoration to the slum dwellers is a mark of the foundation’s impeccable commitment towards underprivileged sections of the society.

While several were stranded, the slum families of Vasant Kunj had probably suffered from a great setback watching their life’s only worth valuables go up in flames. This unique welfare drive from DLF Foundation has come to the rescue of a large population of slum dwellers who saw their livelihood & savings disappear in smoke in the unfortunate incident. Prior to this, the foundation has actively engaged with village clusters in Gurgaon and has been taking special initiatives to give them basic amenities such as health, education, proper sanitation, disease management etc.
