New website launches to provide trusted reviews and guidance for buyers
Just a few years ago it would have seemed strange to pay real money for a PDF. Now, digital books are one of the most popular products online – yet their very popularity means that the internet is awash with scams and poor quality products. That’s why a new website, ProductDirectory.net, has launched to help visitors find only the very best digital products.
The digital goods market is expected to grow to $36 billion by 2014, driven by the convenience of purchase and lower production and distribution costs relative to physical goods. And it’s a trend which is set to keep on growing as tablet computers and e-readers become truly mainstream. Yet consumers are more liable to fall victim to
poor quality products, as there is currently no trusted, centralized marketplace equivalent to Amazon for physical goods.
Due to the ease of setting up an online store selling digital goods, and the difficulty of checking out credentials, the internet is plagued by poor quality products – leaving consumers either disappointed or reluctant to buy at all. Many products fail to deliver on their claims, and some vendors take payment without delivering at all.
ProductDirectory.net lists products across multiple categories – from the ever-popular guides to weight loss and making money, to sports, language learning and games. Each has been tested and reviewed by the editorial team, so visitors can buy with confidence.
ProductDirectory.net’s bestsellers are an indication of the variety in the digital goods market. One of the top products in January was Rocket Langauges, a series of online study guides for learning languages, along with Real Writing Jobs, a product revealing how to build a career as a writer.
“The variation in quality of digital products is huge,” said ProductDirectory.net founder Ondřej Bárta. “The choice and uncertainty is a real source of frustration for customers, so our aim is to create a trusted marketplace with reviews buyers can rely on.”
