SQUEEZE star CHRIS DIFFORD dedicated new tune BATTERSEA BOYS to a terminally ill friend he met while working in a hospice.
The Cool For Cats singer/songwriter admits the time he spent with sick patients was deeply inspiring - and so he wrote a tune about his experiences.
He says, "I was doing creative writing for people that were terminally ill and I found it inspirational and something that I really enjoyed doing.
"It was very challenging at first getting used to the fact that the people I was working with probably had three months to a year left to live.
"I found great strength in that because these people are living full lives each day, as it comes with full knowledge of what's around the corner for them.
"One of the terminally ill guys, called Jim, told me about his family and about his brother. I asked him if he minded that I write a song about them and I dedicated it to him." (KL/WN&RXM/PAW) WENN - SECOND - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 12 OCTOBER 2008
