CHALLENGES BEFORE USING PERFION PIM
21DIAMONDS operates an online shop for jewelry and watches with more than 10,000 different products.
Before Perfion, 21DIAMONDS managed all product information in many Excel files, which led to many errors. The
employees had no overview and did not know where information was missing for a particular piece of jewelry on the website. It was not possible to edit data in bulk, such as e.g. “give me all the products that have sold very well and make a new range of bestsellers of these products”. Before Perfion, it took several days to create this important bestseller list.
SOLUTION & BENEFITS WITH PERFION
21DIAMONDS mainly uses the Perfion Product Information Management (PIM) system to manage the data from product partners. The basic information comes from the partners and is imported into Perfion. Thereafter, the employees at 21DIAMONDS add further information and, from Perfion, all products are uploaded to the shop system in one single file.
Because Perfion allows you to edit data in bulk, the 100 best-selling products can be labeled very quickly and easily in the system. Perfion also displays a detailed overview of which elements and product data are still missing on the website.

Because it only takes a couple of hours to explain the Perfion system, new employees can edit product data independently after a very short time. We can therefore allow more employees to work on our product data than before. This has improved the quality of the data significantly.
Translations are now handled decentralized in the different countries, so our colleagues there can quickly change incorrect wording. Previously, changes were to be forwarded to a person in our head office who had to make the corrections in the old system. Usually, the 15 language versions of our online shop are administered automatically in Perfion, as the system recognizes the words and chooses the correct translations.
During implementation, it took two employees only one week to enter existing data from more than 10,000 products in Perfion and to build the whole setup. The collaboration with the Perfion team has been extremely positive in this phase. We were able to clear all of our questions immediately and have received excellent support. Since its founding in 2011, 21DIAMONDS has become Europe’s largest online shop for jewelry. Starting from the idea of designing jewelry yourself, the Munich start-up offers customers to build jewelry according to their wishes. Via the online shop, the products are sold in all countries in Europe and in Brazil and India. The monthly number of visitors exceeds half a million worldwide.
