CUENCA, Ecuador (AP) - Deportivo Cuenca of Ecuador earned a 2-1 comeback victory at home against Venezuela's 10-man Caracas in the Copa Libertadores knockout round of 16 on Thursday.
Gabriel Cichero headed Caracas in front after three minutes, but the Venezuelan side became short-handed when Rafael Castellin was sent off for elbowing an opponent in the 20th.
Still, it took until nearly the hour mark for Cuenca to level, when Rodrigo Texeira sent in a penalty.
Ismael Villalba scored the winner with a cool finish of Holguer Matamoros' in the 69th.
Caracas also wasn't able to win away from home in the group stage, where it became the first Venezuelan club to win a group in the competition's history.

The return leg will be played in Caracas next Tuesday.
