2008-09-03 10:54:41 - Low-floor buses don't have a chassis because of which they lose control easily if brakes are applied suddenly. The authorities should take note of all these factors and take some remedial action to prevent more such deaths,' said the official.

A woman 28 Year old , died after being hit by a speeding low-floor DTC bus near the Chirag Dilli petrol pump on Tuesday morning at faulty BRT ,Bus Rapid Transit corridor.

Tuesday evening, four cars were involved in a pile up near the same spot after a Mahindra Scorpio rammed into two Maruti 800s and a Santro. However, no one

was seriously injured in the accident.

The public debate in the print media and electronic media did not deter the adminstration to put on the requiste security hedges and pedestrain crossing with safety moulds from the high speed of running bus lanes run ning between the mid of roads and the commuter has to cross with little or no safety passages.

For adminstration the zebra crossing is in itself a safe passage on the open road with traffic warden guarding the view.Proper hedges,or underground or overhead bridge is not provided in this corridor which has become the death trap for millions of people using this public transport facility provided by the state adminstration.

BRT corridor is completely a faulty design. Many people have been killed on this stretch, between Ambedkar Nagar and Moolchand.
