The McVlog, Dan McVicar's video blog, has been greeted with such success that McVicar is in talks with several Web 2.0 companies to produce a daily Internet show.
The McVlog was recently selected by Video Hot Hot as a noteworthy web destination. It had previously been noted as 'Very Clickable- by veryclickable.com. It was also selected
by video blogging pioneer Steve Garfield as one of the best video blogs on the Web.
The popularity of the McVlog has led McVicar to begin development on a new, as yet untitled project.
'When television was new, Steve Allen created the ‘Tonight Show',- says McVicar. 'It was smart, relevant, and it broke new ground. We're creating a show in that spirit. It will be a mash-up of night culture, music, and comedy, with contributors from all over the world.-
McVicar wants the show and its accompanying website to involve viewers and invite them to submit material. 'It's an exciting time in media and communications,- he says, 'and we're creating something that is not just top-down. There will be a real community.-
College students and young professionals will represent a major demographic for the new show. McVicar and his young staff, including Niko Rantala and Spencer Bainbridge, are building the site and creating new content for the yet to be named program.
Produced in Los Angeles by MagmaWave, the McVlog is free on Apple's iTunes service or by email subscription at
