Cyndi Lauper Celebrates Elvis Style!



June 22 marked Cyndi Lauper's 55th birthday. While in Dallas to promote her latest CD, Bring Ya To The Brink, and performing with the b-52's and Joan Jett, she checked into the Stoneleigh Hotel. Elvis Presley himself stayed at this hotel among various other celebrities such as Bob Hope, Andy Warhol, and Judy Garland.

The hotel now has 9 tribute themed suites including the Elvis Presley Suite.
Cyndi checked herself into the Elvis Presley suite and her band threw her a small birthday party in that very suite fit for the king himself!

Lisa Marie Presley and Cyndi are also friends. In September of last year, they dined together in Lauper's native NYC at the Waverly Inn in the west village. Then in November, Lisa presented Cyndi with the "Makin A Difference" award for human rights on behalf of the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
Maybe a future musical collaboration could be on the horizon?
