BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC) today published a video : customer case study outlining how Sun Chemical, the world’s largest producer of prints, inks and pigments, is using BMC Software solutions to manage a complex batch environment.

The video shows how Sun Chemical uses SAP® enterprise resource planning software with BMC Control-M to support billing, purchasing, ordering and human resources batch jobs. The integrated scheduling solution has enabled the company to quadruple its complex batch environment while reducing costs.

“With SAP, we’re bringing all of our business units, which are spread over 60 locations in 15 countries, together into a single centralized system for all our key processes,” said Sonny Samarakoon, SAP technology lead at Sun Chemical. “BMC Control-M allows

us to manage this vast environment with a small team of technical analysts. It works behind the scenes, handling all the batch jobs required by SAP.”

The BMC Control-M solution gives Sun Chemical’s enterprise scheduling team the flexibility to accommodate new applications and platforms.

“BMC Control-M has boosted our productivity so we can continue to meet service level agreements and deadlines despite the fact that job complexity and job volumes are increasing,” Samarakoon said.
