2014-04-01 11:20:24 - Berlin/ Hamburg, 1 April 2014: The Berlin-based games performance marketing specialists at crobo (www.crobo.com) have officially acquired TrafficCaptain. With the acquisition of the Hamburg-based Games Performance Network, the crobo team has now grown to boast over 50 employees. Together, the employees will be split into two different teams, in two different locations. This gives crobo the ability to have a strong, personal relationship with the countless online and mobile game developers in the German games hub that is Hamburg. Advertisers and publishers in the crobo advertising network profit from the years’ worth of experience of the TrafficCaptain team. At the same time, the reach of crobo has also expanded. In particular, Latin America and Asia are two areas in which crobo has gained a valuable foothold for the acquisition of new users for both mobile and browser-based free-to-play games.
New employees, an office in Hamburg and the expansion of their already extensive reach: crobo remains on a course towards further growth. The acquisition of TrafficCaptain is a further step along the way to making crobo the leading games performance marketing platform for CEO Matthias Lesch. “By acquiring TrafficCaptain, we can welcome an experienced and passionate team of international marketing experts into the crobo family. We can also further strengthen our relationships and contact with the numerous game developers and publishers with the office in the games hub Hamburg. Of course, our new employees will continue to offer complete service and work with their international customers.”
Sandra Fisher, as the former TrafficCaptain COO, will continue to lead the Hamburg office and
will ensure the seamless integration of the teams and new processes. TrafficCaptain was founded in 2012 as a Games Performance Network from the Hamburg investment powerhouse iVentureCapital. iVentureCapital is specialized in the games industry. With TrafficCaptain, the venture capitalists recently managed their first successful exit of a founded company.
Michael Reul, the CEO at iVentureCapital, shared his thoughts on the decision: “iVentureCapital sees itself as a middle to long-term investor. In the last two years, TrafficCaptain has developed quite well as our first self-produced project in the games branch and we feel that it is now the perfect point in time to move on with new projects. We are very proud of what the engaged TrafficCaptain team has achieved up to this point and we are sure that it will contribute to the further growth and expansion of crobo.”
In regards to the price of the acquisition, it has been decided by both parties not to release any numbers.
crobo has strengthened its own team through the acquisition, with experts in the international games markets and thereby offers customers an even more comprehensive service and support. Built on the in-house developed technology, crobo intelligence, crobo offers all advertisers the best-possible ROI (return on investment) in getting paying users in the right target audience, whether in the mobile or online markets. Additionally, crobo has acquired SEM-specialists who can help place games in optimal SEM-campaigns, alongside the advertisement of the games campaigns within crobo’s own network.
