- Diann Wall-Wilson, creator of the official mascot of the U.S. Marine Corps and the beloved mascots of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, accompanied by Paul Shiffman, her associate, presented the nation with an original painting by world renowned artist Stewart Moskowtiz at a Memorial Day ceremony held in the White House Gift Shop in Washington, D.C.
The painting, entitled "United Stars of America," depicts a large American flag on which are emblazoned the five mascots of the five branches of the U.S. military. Commissioned by Wall-Wilson, the painting is a tribute to the men and women who across two centuries have bravely and honorably served the country.
According to Wall-Wilson, "This painting is
my way of paying tribute to the country and the men and women who have sacrificed so much for it. I hope that this token of my appreciation will give pleasure to all who see it and remind them of the courage and dedication of our armed forces and the role they play in protecting and preserving our rights as a free people."
Wall-Wilson went on to say, "I asked Stewart Moskowitz to execute this painting because I know of no one better equipped or who has a greater love for his country."
Moskowitz is a well-known American poster artist whose works are enjoyed around the world. Plans call for his latest work to be released to the public in the form of a limited edition print (www.militarycreationsllc.com).
