(CHAMPAIGN, IL)(May 19, 2007) Chicago-based Internet journalist, broadcaster and media critic Andy Martin
will hold a news conference TODAY, Saturday, May 19th at 9:00 A.M. in Champaign, Illinois (USA) to disclose his timetable for filing a consumer fraud lawsuit against Senator Barack Obama over the fraudulent and distorted claims in Obama's book 'Dreams From My Father.-
'Obama and his publisher distorted facts, claims and characters,- Martin says. "The publisher failed to exercise due diligence after the truth became known. And they continued to claim that Obama's book was ‘nonfiction,' when it was not.
'In fact, Obama wrote an interesting work of imagination and fiction. ‘Dreams From My Father' should have never appeared in the nonfiction section. I sent warning letters to the publisher, and the publisher has virtually said ‘sue me,' so we will.
'Saturday we will disclose the timetable for filing suit. The countdown has begun.
'Mr. Obama and his publisher will have to answer in a court of law. It will be interesting. As recently as this year the Chicago Sun-Times still had not figured out who Obama's ‘grandmother' was, and had posted an inaccurate photo on the newspaper's website. Obama is a master of confusion and obfuscation.
'Our legal research for the lawsuit is substantially complete. We feel we have a very strong case and we will recover a significant amount for the public,- Martin will state.
