IPTV provider in Taiwan, used both MediaHawk 4000 and MediaHawk 4500 models of Concurrent's video servers to stream high-definition coverage in the first and largest on-demand Olympic initiative in Asia.

Chunghwa Telecom provides IPTV service, with interactive products like karaoke-video-on-demand (KVOD) and movies-on-demand (MOD), to about 600,000 digital subscribers in ten markets spread across Taiwan. Cities covered by Chunghwa include Taoyuen, Bangiao Shihlin, Hsinchu and Tongsi in the north, and Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Changhua in the south. Chunghwa was the only IPTV provider in Taiwan to offer large-scale on-demand Olympic coverage, and their subscriber numbers grew by 50,000 (about 8%) during the two weeks of the Beijing games. Chunghwa Telecom's Olympic on-demand coverage was also the first high-quality H.264 HD on-demand service to be offered by a telco operator.
Concurrent will be providing live demonstrations of its MediaHawk Content Delivery System and time-shifted television solutions during IBC 2008, 11-16 September 2008, at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam, hall 5, booth C.35.
