2014-03-27 17:23:57 - The Laundry Project provides those less fortunate with the ability to wash and dry their clothes for free.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - (Mar. 27, 2014) As part of the Laundry Project, Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. is spending Saturday, Mar. 29, helping wash the clothes of Jacksonville residents at no charge. The event is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Sue’s Coin Laundry in Jacksonville, Florida.
“The Laundry Project provides those less fortunate with the ability to wash and dry their clothes for free said Jason Sowell, President of Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. Sowell and his volunteer force have been providing free laundry services throughout the country for more than three years and have washed and dried the clothing and linen of more than 4,000 families to date.
Trinity Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist College as well
as other organizations within Jacksonville are also volunteering with the effort.
The Laundry Project is able to provide clean laundry to low-income residents by providing the laundry detergent and coins necessary to wash resident’s clothes. The project is especially meaningful for Sowell who attended Trinity Baptist College located on the west side of Jacksonville. “Hosting the Laundry Project in this location is always special to me. I spent several years of my life here and I know the community will benefit from our efforts Sowell said.
Current is seeking donations of laundry detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), one-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets. Donations can be brought to the event on the morning of March 29 or by contacting Jason Sowell directly at 727-537-9082.
