The son of a woman who died after a routine knee surgery at Holy Family
Hospital has filed a complaint with The Joint Commission.
The Joint Commission ( www.jointcommission.org/) "accredits and certifies
more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States,"
according to it's website.
"My mother died needlessly due to the negligence and ignorance of The Holy
Family Hospital in Methuen. Steward Health Care System in Boston owns this
hospital," says Evans.
"They put my mom in an unmonitored recovery room after surgery, while knowing
she was on morphine, throwing up all day, had sleep apnea, and a heart
condition. In my opinion, The Holy Family Hospital should be closed completely,"
says Evans. "For even one minute, that was too long."
"I look forward to The Joint Commission doing
what it's supposed to do. But no
matter what, justice will be done. The Holy Family Hospital, by their
negligence, killed my mother. She went in there to fix her knee, and came out
headed to the funeral home to be cremated. In my opinion, that's the treatment
you can expect from these morons."
