SAN ANTONIO, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 07/23/09 -- San Antonio-based CommuniCare Health Centers (CCHC) will host three back-to-school immunization health fairs to help families in San Antonio and Hays County meet the state's new school immunization guidelines. The events, called CommuniCaring for Kids, will take place over the next few weeks starting in San Antonio on Saturday, July 25th at CCHC's original site, the Barrio Family Health Center at 1102 Barclay.
"We are hosting these CommuniCaring for Kids events to provide timely access to crucial school immunizations so we can help as many families as possible," said Debbora A. Thompson, CEO of CommuniCare Health Centers.
"The state's new school immunization guidelines are creating challenges for many families -- those with and without health insurance -- and we as an organization are working to help ensure access to immunizations for everyone in the community." In addition to school immunizations, the CommuniCaring for Kids events will focus on health education and provide fun, games and prizes for children. Parents are encouraged to bring their children's shot records to expedite vaccines. The event is open to all residents.
