2008-04-29 21:03:12 - Comarch, a leading global telecommunications solutions provider, today announced that it has joined the Symbian Partner Program.

Supporting the growing market for Symbian mobile phones, it will offer its expertise and wide portfolio of professional services to the Symbian ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS™, the market leading open operating system for mobile phones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers and to date, over 188 million Symbian mobile phones have shipped

worldwide to over 250 major network operators.

Comarch has an extensive history of cooperation with the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers and has made the strategic decision to support Symbian OS, with its large volume opportunity and wide ecosystem of partners.

- More and more companies have innovative ideas for mobile applications but may not possess the necessary skills or have the bandwidth to make those ideas come to life. With Comarch joining the Partner Program, Symbian and its thriving ecosystem of partners, handset vendors and operators have the assistance it needs to continue to develop and make commercial realities of new software solutions and award-winning applications for Symbian OS - says Jerry Panagrossi, Vice President and General Manger of North American Operations, Symbian.

- As Symbian mobile phones gain mass-market following, Comarch will continue to ensure professional Symbian OS development and first class applications are readily available. Our close cooperation with the biggest device manufactures and leading mobile operators give us a unique opportunity to leverage Symbian smartphone adoption across both consumer and enterprise markets - says Paweł Bieryt, EVP Telecommunications Business Group, Professional Services, Comarch SA.
