Five employees who have made outstanding contributions to Peterborough-based medical devices company Coloplast (www.coloplast.com) and its customers throughout the past year have been rewarded with all-expenses-paid holidays to Hong Kong.
Two of the delighted award winners work at the company’s headquarters at Lynch Wood – business analyst Andrew Witt, who lives in Orton Brimbles, and market manager Natalie Lipscombe from Stamford.
Andrew works in the commercial excellence team for the ostomy and continence care divisions. He was named Employee of the Year (for 2012) and is looking forward to a holiday of a lifetime this summer with his wife Amy.
For Natalie, who has been named Marketer of the Year, the trip to Hong Kong really will be a holiday to remember – she is getting married this summer and now all her honeymoon plans have been taken care of!
Coloplast is committed to developing its employees and has a strong reputation
for rewarding staff who make exceptional contributions to the business, especially when they also help to make life easier for customers.
Each year the company celebrates the achievements of outstanding performers across its UK operations and announces Employee of the Year and Sales Person of the Year awards.
Several of the company’s most successful salespeople have also won holidays to Hong Kong, including Jonathan Simmonds (Continence Care Salesperson of the Year) and Barbara Twinem (Salesperson of the Year for the Ostomy division).
The Coloplast Group, which is based in Denmark, has had its strongest year with the UK operation making a significant contribution. The company rewarded all eligible staff in UK chronic care with a five per cent performance-related bonus in their December pay packets.
Colopast UK general manager Sue Kernahan congratulated the major award winners and said: “Thanks to them – and many more like them throughout the company – we have made real progress and achieved some excellent results over the past 12 months.
“We have exceeded sales targets and the previous year’s financial results. Our relationships with our customers – the most important people in our business – are better than ever and the service we deliver to them continues to be excellent.”
Andrew, 32, joined Coloplast ten years ago and is a member of a small team which analyses sales and market performance, business trends and tracks sales figures against targets. During the past year he has overseen the introduction of an automated business reporting package and has been heavily involved in new product investments.
Describing himself as “modest” and “a team player”, Andrew said he regarded his award as a team achievement. “I couldn’t have won this without them so it’s important that they also take a lot of the credit for my success.
“I wasn’t expecting this at all. I was pleased to be nominated but it was a complete surprise to win. Going to Hong Kong will be brilliant. It’s a place that we’ve not even considered before.”
Coloplast’s specialist healthcare products for continence, ostomy and wound and skin care make a real difference to people with intimate healthcare needs. The company employs about 170 staff at its UK headquarters in Peterborough and over 70 others at its nearby distribution centre.
