JOHN CLEESE has accused filmmakers of forsaking their elderly audiences by making the dialogue in movies too difficult to hear.
The Monty Python star refuses to watch pictures in the cinema because he struggles to hear the actors' lines.
And Cleese insists

that sound editors pay too much attention to special effects - and not enough to making the words clear.
He says, "No older person goes (to the movies) any more because it's harder for me to hear the dialogue than it was 20 or 30 years ago. Your hearing starts to go in your early 30s and it's hard to pick out the voices from the ambient sound.
"The problem is that when they mix movies now, they forget that the audiences have not heard the dialogue. They've all heard the dialogue hundreds of times and take it for granted."
