Veteran US TV presenter DICK CLARK is to auction off several pieces of musical memorabilia from his personal collection, including items once belonging to SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, MICHAEL JACKSON and BOB DYLAN.
The former AMERICAN BANDSTAND host is also selling the microphone he used to present the rock 'n' roll show, which dates back to 1956 and is expected to fetch anywhere between $10,000 (£5,560) and $100,000 (£55,600).
The mic will be auctioned off alongside a bass guitar from McCartney, a beaded glove worn by Jackson in his MOONWALKER days, and a harmonica played by Dylan in MARTIN SCORSESE movie THE LAST WALTZ.
Speaking of his prized microphone, Clarke says, "It's tough to part with that one." The memorabilia goes on sale on 5 and 6 December at Guernsey's Auction House in New York. The majority of the profits from the auction will go to the TJ Martell Foundation, which raises money for cancer and AIDS research.
