SAN DIEGO (January 18, 2013)— EC Galleries announce a three-day show for Celebrity Artist Christopher M. in San Diego’s Seaport Village February 8-10. The “Painter of Chefs” will showcase new original oil paintings in an exhibition for the public entitled “Feast for the Eyes” that highlights the commitment connecting both chefs and artists to their craft. His paintings will be accompanied by a special cooking demonstration by Chef Mandy Braidic of The Inspired Gourmet.

Dedication. Diligence. Passion. Such are the ingredients that have brought artist Christopher M.’s striking chef renderings into the limelight among both fine art and culinary circles. “Watching chefs in the kitchen, noting the vibrant colors, lively textures, and the precision they use caused me to draw connections

to my own work as a painter,” he says. Indeed, while the memory of a meal may remain with the diner for a lifetime, the meal itself is consumed within the hour. In his masterful oil paintings, Christopher M. is able to immortalize his subjects through his art.

Notable subjects of his paintings include Chef Thomas Keller, Pastry Chef Francois Payard, Iron Chef winner Kevin Rathbun, Chef Charlie Trotter, and top female winemaker Heidi Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame, among many others. He renders their accomplishments on canvas through their individual approach and contribution to cooking.

Christopher M. observes the trends of the culinary industry, noting, “When you talk to chefs who have philosophies to which they have committed their lives and to which they stay true, such as using only the freshest ingredients in their work, you know eventually their talents will be recognized.” The artist creates a platform on which these talents can be remembered for all time, honoring the most prolific chefs of our time by painting them and preserving them historically on canvas.
