Glen Daigger, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer with CH2M HILL, a global full-service engineering, procurement, construction, and operations firm, will provide an "Overview on Managing Water Infrastructure" as well as discuss "Trends in Wastewater Treatment" with attendees of Singapore International
Water Week.
As the world faces the issues of ever increasing demand for new and expanded plants and communities, aging infrastructure, environmental and regulatory requirements, and the continued impact of regional droughts, knowing how to successfully manage existing and developing water and wastewater infrastructure has become a global imperative. Daigger, a recognized expert in wastewater treatment plant evaluation, troubleshooting, and process design with over 30 years experience, will discuss why the traditional "take, make, waste" approach to managing water is
leading to water stress, unsustainable resource consumption, the dispersion of nutrients and financially unstable utilities. Additionally, he will share the latest trends in wastewater treatment and water infrastructure management that can solve these issues.
Daigger is responsible for wastewater process engineering on both municipal and industrial wastewater treatment projects at a global level for CH2M HILL, a company he has been with for 29 years. He is CH2M HILL's first Technical Fellow, an honor which recognizes the leadership he provides for CH2M HILL and for the profession in the development and implementation of new wastewater treatment technology. Daigger received his doctorate and master's degrees in environmental engineering and has authored or co-authored more than 100 technical papers, four books, and several technical manuals, continually contributing to advancing practice within the wastewater profession. Daigger will present both the afternoon of June 23 and 24, sharing his expertise with policy makers, industry leaders, and fellow experts and practitioners from around the world.
