CEBU will, once again, prove to the world that it definitely has what it takes to be called the Queen City of the South. It is, in fact, one of the globe’s most beautiful cities. By the calling itself, Cebu is undoubtedly home to many of the universe’s well-looked-up beauty queens. Come June 5, 2009, 7PM, at the Southwestern University Aznar Coliseum, Creworks Asia will spearhead the most-awaited interschool beauty-and-brain competition, the 2009 Mr. & Ms. Olive-C Campus Model Cebu.
Eleven equally adorable ladies and eleven truly gorgeous men will outwit and outdo one another in a full-packed show of elegance, wittiness, intelligence, and grace under pressure under the direction of
Cebu’s top stage director vis-à-vis fashion designer Lemuel Evangelista Rosos and to be hosted by the most-requested Rommel Pareja.
These student delegates, whose ages range from 14 to 21, proudly carry the names of their respective Alma Maters. Only one in each category shall be crowned king and queen and will have the once-in-a-lifetime chance of representing Cebu to the national finals slated in the next few months.
Before the five finalists will be named, all eleven of them will fairly undergo the Production Number, Festival Costume, Beach Wear, Formal Wear and Long Gown, and Question and Answer competitions. The Talent Competition and Prepageant Overall Performance were done separately beforehand.
Meanwhile, four of Cebu’s brilliant fashion designers will clothe the candidates, namely, Bernardo Flores for the long gowns, Edwin Alba for the beach wears, Bong Allosa for the production number outfits, and Lemuel Rosos for the men’s formal wear.
The finalists also have equal chances of getting any of the 22 corporate and special awards, including the Globe Texters’ Choice; 88DB.com Peoples’ Choice; and, of course, Banat Hugyaw Readers’ Choice. Just type LIST FOR MR or MSOLIVEC and send to 2278 (Gobe and Touch Mobile only) for more info. Log on to www.88DB.com for the online voting mechanics. Last week, the candidates were able to give back to the community the blessings that they have received through the community and ecological immersion activities. They gave hopes and joys to the little angels of the Children’s Joy Foundation in Nasipit, Talamban, Cebu City and did good for Mother Earth when they had their coastal cleanup at the Suba Pasil Fishport. Apart from these, the candidates also visited and made courtesy calls to their sponsors.
All are invited to watch the pageant finale and encouraged to support the representatives of their respective schools and communities. In order to get into the venue, one must present one empty box of any of the Olive-C soap variants (with papaya extract, tea tree oil, olive milk, or slimming soap). For questions regarding the pageant, one may call the organizers at 255-1077 or 09185658769.
