Former BUSTED star MATT WILLIS credits his girlfriend with saving him from descending into a life of drug addiction.
The 23-year-old Brit, who is now launching a solo career, claims he would never have given up his all-consuming love for marijuana without the aid of his TV presenter lover EMMA GRIFFITHS.
Willis, who is now clean but had smoked cannabis regularly from the age of 14, admits he was stoned all the time and that his bad habit was starting to affect his relationship with Griffiths badly.
Willis, writing in today's (27MAY06) edition of British newspaper the Daily Star, says, "Without her I don't think I'd be here now with the opportunity to make something of myself. I caned it totally until she put her foot down and forced me to face up to things.
"At the end of last year (06) she finally snapped and said, 'You're going to have to stop smoking or...'.
"That was it. I gave it up for New Year and now I don't miss it at all.
Towards the end I was just getting really, really wasted.
"I am so grateful for Emma. She gave me the courage to face life."
