THE STROKES drummer FABRIZIO MORETTI is convinced fans see the band as an old pair of roller-skates - battered but much loved.
The LAST NITE star insists the New York group's appeal has only increased, even if they are no longer flavour of the month.
He says, "The way I look at it, it's like roller-skates - the first day you get them, you're like, 'Wow, these are great - the wheels, they look beautiful.' "And then maybe a year later, they're all scratched up and they look like they've been through the ringer.
"But you love them almost more than you did the first day because they remind you of all you're skating memories.
"That's us. We're roller-skates. But then rollerblades come along."
