Controversial film THE DA VINCI CODE has been banned in Pakistan after officials slammed it as blasphemous and disrespectful to the country's minority Christians.
The movie, based on the best-selling novel by DAN BROWN, speculates that JESUS CHRIST and MARY MAGDALENE had children whose descendents are still alive.
So far, no screenings of the TOM HANKS-starring film have taken place in Pakistan.
SHAHBAZ BHATTI, a prominent Christian leader who believes Brown has "evil intentions", says, "The Da Vinci Code is a sacrilegious act in the guise of freedom of expression and fiction.
"It has hurt the religious sentiments of Christians and Muslims throughout the world."
