Carnegie Learning, Inc., a leading publisher of research-based math curricula for middle school, high school, and postsecondary students, announced today that Bill Sullivan has joined Carnegie Learning as Regional Vice President for the West, and Melinda Cook has been hired to lead the newly established Southern Region. Tamara Bousquet continues in her third year as Eastern Regional Vice President.

Bill Sullivan comes to Carnegie Learning with more than 20 years in executive roles with Apple, Palm, Riverside Publishing and, most recently, Teachscape. Prior to a career in education sales, he spent 10 years as a math, science and technology instructor, and served as a director of schools in Washington State and overseas.

Melinda Cook has 14 years experience directing sales, marketing, and strategic relations in the education technology and professional development markets, following several years as a classroom teacher. Her career includes leadership positions with CompassLearning, Inc., Classroom Connect/Harcourt Connected Learning, and The Learning Company/Mindscape.

"Carnegie Learning is entering 2009 with the strongest sales team to date," said Dennis Ciccone, Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Learning, Inc. "Our executive sales leadership has been selected for their deep understanding of the unique needs and cultures of the districts in their regions. We enter this year, as we have the last four, with a commitment to hands-on partnerships with our customers, with a goal of responding quickly and flexibly to address changing math requirements and the need for improved student performance in mathematics nationwide.

"We just completed 2008 with strong sales growth of 30% over 2007, and our expectations for the coming year are equally optimistic, despite a very tough market. I have confidence that this management group will help us to meet our objectives for customer responsiveness and continued financial growth in 2009."
