TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/04/09 -- Carlisle Goldfields Limited (the "Company") announces the election of Carl McGill, Steven Mintz, Bruce Reid, Donald Alexander Sheldon and Frank C. Smeenk as directors of the Company at a special shareholders meeting held last Friday, July 31, 2009 at which shareholders owning nearly 75% of the Company's outstanding shares were represented and cast their votes.

"It was a well-fought proxy contest," said Carl McGill, Carlisle's President and the only director re-elected on Friday. "The two sides proposed different slates of directors and had different plans but both sides had an objective of enhancing shareholder value. Both sides agreed that the Company needed a new board of directors, new management, new financing and a new focus. Now that the shareholders have made their decision, the new board of directors intends to pursue its vision and to implement plans to achieve the common objective of all - to enhance shareholder value."
