2013-10-10 19:17:26 - Care UK has been named as the top organisation in the prestigious 2013 Laing’s Healthcare 20 – a list set up three years ago to throw a spotlight on the work of the most interesting and exciting organisations currently working in UK healthcare.
Mike Parish, Chief Executive of Care UK was delighted with the award. He said: "This award comes at a time when the health and social care challenges that the country faces have been bought sharply into focus. Our approach has always been to develop a service culture dedicated to improve people's experience of care and personal outcomes. Increasingly our focus is also on finding ways of integrating health and social care to transform the effectiveness of care and deliver savings to public health and social care purses. I feel that our standing on the Laing’s Healthcare 20 list reflects that philosophy in the multi disciplinary way Care UK has developed and how our teams are embracing this philosophy."
Care UK’s top
place on the Healthcare 20 list was announced at the Independent Healthcare Awards ceremony this week. These awards highlight the massive range of achievements within the sector and pay tribute to those individuals and teams which have demonstrated outstanding excellence.
This year’s board of judges included Director of Operations at the Royal College of Nursing, Janet Davies; Director of NHS Partners Network David Worsket; Director of NHS Provider Transition at the Department of Health, Bob Ricketts and Chief Executive of the Private Healthcare Information Network Matt James.
Two years ago, Care UK was placed second on the Laing’s Healthcare 20 list.
