TORONTO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/05/13 -- CBCNews.ca has recently released an article : www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2013/01/15/eu-science-contest-money- ..
announcing a funding competition that is taking place in Europe. With EUR 1 billion in funding over the next 10 years at stake, researchers submitted a total of 26 proposals at the beginning of the competition. The playing field was then narrowed down to four initiatives in the final round. Canadian Center of Science and Education : canadiancenterofscienceandeducation.org/
encourages such competitive events, as the nature of competition serves to increase the ambition and scope of the research initiatives that individuals undertake -- which in turn pushes technology and other fields into discoveries of monumental importance.
The article explains that the four final proposals "include a plan to develop digital guardian angels that would keep people safe from harm; a massive data-crunching machine to simulate social, economic and technological change on our planet; an effort to craft the most accurate computer model of the human brain to date; and a team working to find better ways to produce and employ grapheme -- an ultra-thin material that could revolutionize manufacturing of everything from airplanes to computer chips."
The two proposals that win the competition will receive EUR 54 million each up front. Over the next ten years, the initiatives will have to meet certain milestones to access additional funding. In total, they each have the potential to secure EUR 1 billion.
"The scientific research conducted in today's world requires a lot of funding," comments a representative from Canadian Center of Science and Education. "The investments that government agencies make into such research initiatives simply are not enough. As such, private enterprises may plan an important role in funding today's scientific research. We support research and education through the CCSE Fund, which offers financial support to research and educational institutions that are located around the world."

is encouraged by this heightened interest in research funding, as the organization firmly believes in the importance of such research in building a brighter future in all industries. From technology to education, the organization has itself created many funding initiatives to assist researchers and scholars in their work. Additionally, it publishes a wide range of scholarly journals to provide a peer-reviewed platform from which researchers can share their findings.
The Canadian Center of Science and Education is an organization that aims to encourage a positive learning and research environment by offering funding to research projects around the globe. Furthermore, the Canadian Center of Science and Education releases a varied list of scholarly journals, thereby encouraging the sharing of information between professionals and scholars in multiple fields and, as a result, enhancing the knowledge that researchers have at their disposal. The Canadian Center of Science and Education values scientific integrity, academic excellence, and respect and equity in the workplace and aims to support the research projects and other initiatives that uphold these values.
