2008-06-22 14:58:15 - Jannychyun Professional Personnel, a nurse staffing agency, states they have an abundance of qualified nurses available for immediate work at California hospitals and nursing homes.

A recent study issued by the California Institute for Nursing & Health Care (CINHC) forecasts that there will be a shortage of 116,000 nurses by 2020.

"The guiding vision for this study was creation of a system that would develop a workforce of well-prepared professional registered nurses who can be leaders in improving the health of Californians," said Jan Boller,

PhD, RN, who directed the study.

The report cites one cause as the difficulty in recruiting experienced nurse educators. Entry level teaching salaries may be only half what can be earned as clinical nurse with 20 years of experience. Currently, nearly seven percent of teaching positions are unfilled.

"We need a better system for educating nurses," said Deloras Jones, executive director of CINHC. "We cannot continue to educate nurses using traditional strategies. New models are evolving that will better prepare nurses for today's complex environment."

John Nwankwo M.A., Manager of Operations for Jannychyun Professional Personnel states, 'It is admirable that the CINHC is looking towards nursing needs in the future and encouraging people into the profession. We will assist the CINHC and Ms Boller in any way possible.'

Jannychyun is a healthcare staffing agency headquartered in Riverside California providing qualified nursing personnel to hospitals and nursing homes.

'In the meantime, despite the apparent shortage, we have nurses at our registry that are looking for more work today! These nurses are qualified and experienced in all categories.'

'No doubt there's a growing need for nurses as the demand for care increases. Although I do not dispute the statistics, I do doubt that the shortage is as great as the media claims simply based on our company operations,' continues Nwankwo.

'From our corner of the world it is difficult to understand how there can be such a shortage when we have nurses that are available and willing to work every day.'

'As our nurses are experienced they can immediately step in to any environment without the need for orientation, supervision or additional training.'

'It is a paradox that flies in the face of published stats but if the shortage is that great all of our nurses would be working every day. In fact we would be suffering from the same shortage too.'

'All I can say is if there is a hospital or nursing home in California that needs qualified nursing personnel today, we can help.' concludes Nwankwo.
