- The communications law firm of Bennet & Bennet today announced that rural telecommunications industry veteran Andy Brown has become "Of Counsel" to the firm. Brown, whose 25+ year career in rural telecommunications has included stints in senior management positions at both NTCA and NRTC, will be responsible for industry relations for the firm and will assist the well known wireless firm to continue its growth as a full-service communications law firm in such areas as wireline and video issues.

In addition to the senior positions at NTCA and NRTC, Brown has also worked on Capitol Hill for Congresswoman (now Senator) Olympia J. Snowe and in Maine for Governor James B. Longley. He has also been a partner in a prominent telecommunications law firm.

Brown, a graduate of Boston College and the University of Maine School of Law, began his rural industry career in 1981 when he joined NTCA as a lobbyist. He is a well-known speaker on a wide range of industry topics, and is scheduled to be making numerous presentations on behalf of the firm in the coming months. Brown, a former Board officer of the National Cooperative Business Association, has also developed expertise in strategic planning and cooperative governance issues and will continue to stay active in those areas.
