British Man Sings Bangkok Hospital's Praises After Prostate Cancer Surgery

2008-11-06 10:57:50 - A British man has praised Bangkok Hospital's physicians and procedures after undergoing prostate cancer surgery at the hospital, in preference to having treatment at his home in England.

Ron Tedder, a British citizen has praised Bangkok Hospital Medical Center after they discovered, diagnosed and successfully treated his prostate cancer. "I can categorically say the Bangkok Hospital saved my life" said Tedder.

Tedder first encountered Bangkok Hospital on a leisure trip to Thailand, when he sprained his ankle at a local temple. He was so impressed with the prompt treatment and the low cost that he decided to sign up for a Men's Health Check-up on the same day.

The check-up revealed slightly high levels of prostate-specific antigen, one of the early signs of prostate cancer. The Bangkok Hospital doctor treating Tedder told him that while an investigative ultrasound revealed no tumors, the only way to ensure that there was

no cancer present was to undergo a biopsy.

Tedder returned to his home in England before having the biopsy, which actually revealed that he had the early stages of prostate cancer. "The last thing that I imagined was that I has cancer", said Tedder.

With a potential wait of several months for treatment, and at least a four-week wait to see a doctor in England, Tedder decided to return to Bangkok Hospital for treatment. He was successfully treated at Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital, and Tedder says that his "doctor saw the results and almost fell out of his chair".

Bangkok Hospital offers several cutting-edge technologies for prostate cancer treatment, including the Greenlight PVP minimally invasive method. Waiting times are frequently up to ten times less than in the US and Europe, and associated costs can be several times less also.
