AUTHOR HAS BILLBOARDS BANNED
A British author was left reeling this week after every billboard company in the UK put a stop to him putting up one of
his own designs.
Sheridan ‘Shed' Simove wanted to promote his new book, ‘Ideas Man' and planned to use some of the advance he
received to purchase two billboard sites near his
home in South London.
Simove, 36, from London, contacted the major players in the premium billboard industry and even booked sites and dates.
However, when Simove sent his design to be printed, all of the UK companies pulled out.
Simove had planned to stand underneath the billboards selling his books to passers by. (View the design at:

But JC Decaux stopped the proposed billboards saying they were 'not happy to go with the proposed poster'.
And ‘Titan' also pulled out, saying that they were worried people would graffiti letters on the billboard to make
a rude word.
Simove was left frustrated and upset.
'I can't believe it!', says Simove. 'Can't the billboard companies understand that the billboard spells out the
words ‘COUNT'- seeing anything else means you've just got a very dirty mind.'
'It's a sad day when the thought of a word can stop you posting an advert-', Simove said.
