Brilliant, soothing, eclectic, dominate and sexy are just some of the adjectives that best describes Brian Mackey, a newcomer to the music scene, however Mackey's paid his dues. Once you listen to his latest Cd "Feng Shui For Slobs" his soft rock style draws you even closer to his soul and the ultimate way to spend an evening with the
one you love. Brian Mackey is scheduled to showcase his talents July 2nd at New York's Bitter End.
Brian Mackey, in his own words, a manic romantic, says, "He's in love with the idea of love." Every long winding search of dead ends, broken relationships and struggles could make it easy for someone to just give up. But Brian shows "all of us". From age 5, a small scrawny boy with dirty red glasses and white briefs sat at an out-of-tune piano and did his best John Lennon. He didn't come from the best of childhoods, but as the great Frank Mc Court would say, "a normal childhood is hardly worth your while". Brian spent a lot of time in the South, in a town called Havana, Florida. Surrounded by beautiful land and paddle-weilding principles that were eager to dole out the corporal punishment, he reflects now with song and lyric. As an accomplished lyricist and singer/songwriter, his song Painted Red aired on the Disney/Family Channel series, Naturally Sadie and is currently recording his debut album, Feng Shui for Slobs
