Breast Cancer Fashion Fundraiser Debuts in Boston on April 30

The first annual My Girl's Gala Fashion Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research will be held Thursday, April 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Shreve, Crump & Low, 440 Boylston Street, Boston. The event will bring together 400 breast cancer survivors and their friends, along with members of the Boston medical community, for an evening of fun and fashion to raise money for breast cancer research.


The fundraiser will feature New England's first-ever fashion show displaying clothing, makeup and hairstyles designed for breast cancer survivors, including fashions to camouflage post-surgical breast asymmetry from Chikara Design, treatment wear from Jillies, professional makeup artistry from David Nicholas International and hair designs by Images Boutique of Massachusetts General Hospital.


Other events

planned for the evening include:


- A silent auction of wellness and recreational items, including F1 racing/dinner at F1 café, weekend getaways, in-home dinners, gym memberships, beauty consultations, spa packages, and more
- Door prizes including: a one-carat diamond with setting valued at $7,500 from Shreve, Crump & Low; gift certificate and wig valued at $500 from Images Boutique; and a make-up application with instruction, photo shoot and finished photo valued at $750 from David Nicholas International
- Goodie bags with items from My Girl's Radiation Cream, Indigo Rabbit Fresh Baked Cookies, Chikara Design, Jillies and Panoply Day Spa
- An update on breast cancer research by John K. Erban, MD, director of clinical programs and co-director of the Gillette Center for Breast Cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital
"This is a very special night where breast cancer patients and survivors can come together with friends to feel good about themselves no matter which stage of treatment they are in, while helping to raise money to fund breast cancer research at Mass General," said Theresa Keresztes, breast cancer survivor, founder of My Girl's Radiation Cream and organizer for the event.


The event is sponsored by My Girl's Radiation Cream by radiantLIFE, CVS Caremark/CarePlus and Masona Grill, and hosted by Shreve, Crump & Low. All proceeds will go to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center for breast cancer research.
