ALLENTOWN, PA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/16/09 -- Brazil Gourmet, a beverage company specializing in premium tropical juices, announced today the launch of their new product, Mango Juice with no sugar added, to the northeast region of Costco Wholesale. In addition to being 100% juice and no sugar added, this new juice is packaged in an 11oz Tetrapak Prisma carton, which is one of the most eco-friendly packages in use today.

"Brazil Gourmet is committed to making great tasting and good for you juices," says owner and founder Gloria Negrao, "so we are very excited to have this juice available at Costco."

This latest addition to the Brazil Gourmet line of nectars and juices will be available at all Costco locations in the northeast region in late April.
It will be available in a 15-count case with an estimated retail price of $10.99.

"Everyone is more aware of what they are spending on food these days,"
continues Negrao. "We wanted to bring a healthy and great tasting juice to the market at an affordable price."

Each 8oz serving of Brazil Gourmet's new mango juice has only 130 calories, 76% RDV of Vitamin C and 3 grams of fiber. Each 11oz carton contains 3 servings of fruit.

In its commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint, Brazil Gourmet decided to use the Tetrapak Prisma carton for its packaging.

"We anticipate significant savings in transportation costs by using the Tetrapak Prisma," says Senior Vice President of Operations, Alcides Ruozzi.
"We will reduce our logistical costs as well as our carbon footprint because the tetrapaks are shipped in rolls to the factory where they are then formed into cartons. It only takes 2 tractor trailers to carry 1 million unfilled cartons whereas it would take 52 tractor trailers to carry the same number of plastic or glass bottles."
