2006-12-03 14:21:45 - The usually reclusive poetic novelist VANNA BONTA had her share to say about taking love to the final frontier in Outside magazine's (Dec06) compelling investigative report, The Zero G- Spot.

The possibility of a lunar or orbiting hotel was addressed hypothetically in a 1967 speech by entrepreneurial tabloidtante Paris Hilton's paternal grandfather Barron Hilton, US chairman of the Hilton hotel chain. It now appears that lovers and honeymooners may be rendezvousing in orbiting suites gazing at the Earth below by 2010.

Bigelow Aerospace recently launched a small test

model now in orbit, about a third the size of the space hotel design. The company will next launch a medium-sized orbital module toward the objective of a full scale orbital hotel within the next few years.

What would sex be like in zero gravity? OUTSIDE magazine explores some of what may be in store for space-floating lovers. Adventure writer Michael Behar takes readers through an engaging quest. The ever-quotable "Flight" creator VANNA BONTA, who Behar interviewed and heard lecture about human intimacy in weightless environments, had some witty and graphic things to say about mating while migrating to outer space.

BONTA has flown in zero gravity but reports haven't contained extensive details. The audacious beauty apparently also granted a rare interview to science journalist Laura Woodmansee for her recent release, Sex in Space (Apogee Books). In her latest book, Woodmansee does a thorough job addressing many aspects of the very human element involved beyond just nuts and bolts of space exploration. The book brings a key issue into focus for those who argue human colonization of other planets.

Professor STEPHEN HAWKING was just awarded the Copley Medal, the UK's highest scientific accolade whose previous recipients include Charles Darwin, and used the occasion to call on the human race to make some survival plans to head for the stars.

The December 06 issue of Outside with Lance Armstrong on the cover is on news stands now.
