- Bonappetit.com Frederika Brookfield, 212-286-3508 Frederika_Brookfield@condenast.com or Gaia Filicori, 212-286-2889 Gaia_Filicori@condenast.com Bonappetit.com presents The Bon Appetit Top 100 Dishes in a virtual cookbook that goes live May 13. This new website introduces each dish in a 360-degree universe of links to recipes, menus, videos, ingredients, tips, tools and serving pieces to instill the cook with confidence

and to ensure they enjoy their food.

The Bon Appetit Top 100 Dishes are what every cook wants as part of their kitchen repertoire of iconic dishes, from fruit pie to fish tacos, from roast chicken to lemon tart. The recipes will vary with the season, user requests, cooking trends and, of course, the holidays. Bonappetit.com is easy to use and designed to provide cooks at every level--from novice to expert--a trusted culinary resource that can be accessed 24/7.

Users can browse The Bon Appetit Top 100 Dishes alphabetically or by cuisine type, food category or holiday. Each dish page offers all of the essential information the user needs, including seasonal recipes, slideshows, videos, podcasts, links to e-commerce sites to purchase cooking tools, utensils and serving pieces, links to articles, blogs and other web resources. Navigating the site is easy and there are no dead ends; each piece of information naturally flows into related content, making the site especially web-friendly. Optimized search using keywords and tags allows users to quickly find exactly what they need.

"It's no surprise that food-related websites are growth targets," says Barbara Fairchild, Editor-in-Chief of Bon Appetit. "According to comScore Media Trend Report, the food category is picking up user traffic at close to three times the rate of the internet as a whole, with food sites receiving 46 million unique visitors in March - a 16% jump vs. 2007. Knowing this, we asked ourselves what bonappetit.com could add to the virtual food world. And our answer was a highly curated website that provided the user with The Top 100 Dishes they needed to know about right now."

While all of the recipes are geared toward the modern cook, bonappetit.com draws from the magazine's more than 50-year history of creating delicious food and memorable menus that work every time. Each dish, recipe, and article can be rated and commented on by users, enhancing the user experience and creating community throughout the site. To promote user interaction with the site across the Internet, bonappetit.com will launch with its own group on Flickr, a bonappetit.com You Tube channel and a Facebook Fan page.

Bonappetit.com features the blog Project Recipe, which introduces Chris Hall, a veteran home cook from Berkeley, California, and Bridget Moloney, a novice cook living in New York City's East Village. Chris and Bridget will be cooking and blogging their way though each of the 100 dishes, sharing their results and providing photographs of their creations. An e-mail newsletter, Bon Appetit Take 5, will launch on May 30. In addition, each month, some magazine content will be added to the site, such as our popular columns "Health Wise," "Cooking Life," "Family Style," "At the Market" and "Fast, Easy, Fresh."

The bonappetit.com launch will be supported by partnerships with Food Network, in conjunction with the premiere of The Next Food Network Star; Epicurious.com and Yahoo Shine, which will syndicate bonappetit.com blog content on a daily basis.
