Business veteran says he is the best candidate with the background and experience necessary to address the nations economic malaise in Utah's second congressional district.
Salt Lake City, February 17, 2012—Bob Fuehr today announced his candidacy for Utah’s Second Congressional District, saying he is the candidate with the background and experience necessary to address the nations economic malaise. Fuehr is an experienced business executive with more than 30 years in the corporate and public sectors. He brings a fresh perspective to the race as an outsider and a problem-solver who has faced head-on big budgets and complex disputes.
He also views his private sector business experience combined with his economic development work during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games as an asset to the state and nation. Fuehr said, “I’m a former corporate officer at a Fortune 500 company with over thirty years of experience in
the trenches and in the boardroom. I’ve dealt with big budgets, complex business issues and complicated negotiations; and I’ve always been able to find solutions. I know that neither business nor government can function in an environment of perpetual gridlock.”
In Congress, Fuehr will be a strong fiscally conservative voice. He said, “Once elected, I will work to lower federal spending, reduce the deficit, and move Americans forward to prosperity. Likewise, I will work daily to represent Utahns and the issues that matter most to our quality of life, our armed forces, our public lands, and our states’ rights.”
Fuehr wants to serve in congress because he sees problems he can bring solutions to based on his public service on numerous community and business boards. He said, “Today I see a need in government for real solutions. The second district is lacking a candidate with my credentials and experience. I am the best candidate to address the difficulties we are facing in Washington and with the economy.”
Bob Fuehr will pursue policies that balance the budget, spur the economy and establish economic stability. Fuehr earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the CASE Institute of Technology in Cleveland and he graduated with an MBA from Harvard University. Bob has been married to his wife, Jeanne, for 38 years.
