The Ecology of Wasaga Beach
The fresh waters of Georgian Bay Ontario provide some of the finest beaches in the world. Wasaga Beach claims to be the world's longest fresh water beach. For families visiting the beaches along Georgian Bay we encourage you to take the opportunity to educate both yourselves and your family about the beach habitat. In many cases the area around beaches tell a remarkable story about area ecology and the evolving species that rely on the fresh water to survive. A good place for an overview of beach ecology is the Friends of Wasaga Beach website--See Nature Section-Beach Environment
