The Cincinnati Business Courier has announced that BioRx is a finalist in the $10.1 to $50 million category of its 2008 Fast 55 Award. The annual Fast 55 Award, Greater Cincinnati's premier award program, recognizes the region's fastest-growing private companies. BioRx, a national specialty pharmacy serving individuals with bleeding disorders, immune deficiencies and nutritional disorders, was ranked 6th out of all private companies reviewed in the entire region. The company has focused on home healthcare combined with educational programs and exceptional customer service to achieve annual sales of nearly $45 million in just four years.
BioRx is a privately-owned company located in Blue Ash, Ohio, co-founded by Philip Rielly and Eric Hill. The firm began operations in 2004
with only three employees specializing in the treatment of hemophilia. Offering home care with infusion suite nurses on staff and a unique consumer advocacy program, the company quickly grew and expanded to offer treatment for primary immune deficiencies and nutritional deficiencies. BioRx is the only local company specializing in the treatment of hemophilia and immune deficiency disorders. Servicing all fifty states, the company expanded to seventy-six employees in 2008. The quick growth required relocation and expansion of the office, pharmacy, and distribution facility in 2007 to accommodate the accelerated increase in business.
The Fast 55 program compares companies' growth over a three-year period. Companies must have at least $1 million in average annual revenue to qualify, and have headquarters in the Greater Cincinnati region. The 55 are determined through Courier research and nominations. Revenue categories are used so small companies don't dominate the top rankings.
The winning 55 companies were honored at a Dec. 11th luncheon.
