Big Goal for a Small Virginia Beach Church

New Genesis Baptist Church is trying to raise $15,000 with the help of the online fundraising website Indiegogo. The campaign ( igg.me/at/thenew) is only a portion of the overall church fundraising goal that will one day allow them to move out of the Indian Lakes Community Center that they now call home and into a more permanent worship facility. The 40-day campaign started on July 15th and has less than 20 days left for them to make their full fundraising goal. With the new facility they can more easily fellowship with one another on a regular basis, grow as a church in numbers

and in faith and better serve their community, which is ultimately their biggest goal.

The church was created by a group of like-minded individuals a little over 2 years ago. In that time they have garnered a great deal of personal success as a church body, the greatest of these successes being the hiring of their new pastor, Pastor Melvin Cotton, Jr. Under his leadership they are now ready to enter the next phase of their church’s journey and with a little faith and some help from their Facebook friends they will be eventually be able to do it in a new worship facility.

Pastor Melvin Cotton Jr. stated about the fundraising efforts in his Sunday morning sermon, “We have to believe and take a leap of faith . . .”
