Bass Quake Organization and Los Angeles Music Academy Host 4th Annual Pasadena Bass Day July 25th

2009-06-23 06:56:27 - Highlights of Bass Day include performances and give-a-ways; learning from and playing with pros and a 6,000 square foot showroom with manufacturers demoing today's latest and hottest gear.

Pasadena, CA – LA Music Academy (www.lamusicacademy.edu) and The Bassquake Organization announced today their lineup for the fourth annual Pasadena Bass Day. A public event for bassists, the occasion was created to bring a large community of musicians and manufacturers together for a full day of lessons, clinics, new product showcases and networking. Hosted at LA Music Academy in Pasadena, scheduled guest clinicians include:

• Rhonda Smith (Solo Artist, Prince and New Power Generation)
• Byran Beller (Solo Artist, Bassist, Clinician, Composer, Freelance Writer)
• Sekou Bunch (Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Ray Charles, Tom Browne, The Tonight Show Band, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart)
• Brain Bromberg (Solo Artist, Bob James, Bobby Lyle, Jeff Lorber, George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Joe Sample, Dianna Krall)

Andrew Gouche (Andre Crouch, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, LA Mass Choir, Walter Hawkins, Bebe and Cece Winans, Sounds of Blackness)

“All levels and styles of players are welcome, and our guest clinicians will cover it all from jazz and funk to rock, r&b, gospel and fusion says Jerry Watts, head of LA Music Academy’s Bass Department. “Be prepared to learn and play with professionals and have fun in a hands-on environment. There will be incredible performances and give-a-ways, a 6,000 square foot showroom with manufacturers demoing today's latest and hottest gear.” The showroom will be free and open to the public.

Watts adds, “Bassquake’s Pete De Cuir is a great friend of mine and we partnered together to create the first Bass Day event in 2006. I am happy to once again utilize the Academy to host this year’s event, not only for our community but for all interested musicians throughout Southern California.”
