BAYONNE, France (AP) - A Basque political group says a Spanish Basque activist was briefly detained in southwest France on a European warrant.
The group, Askatasuna, says 21-year-old Mikel Barrios of Pamplona was detained Wednesday in the French town of Domezain.
He was later released pending a decision next week by a court in the French city of Pau on what next judicial steps to take.

Askatasuna says he is suspected of involvement in SEGI, a movement of young Basque nationalists accused by Spanish authorities of having ties to separatist militant group ETA.
He was arrested on a European warrant issued at Spain's request.
