2013-02-20 17:39:46 - Steve Brown has been appointed Head of Interiors at tensile fabric company, Base Structures. His brief is to seek out additional specialist fabric interior projects such as the company’s iconic floating ribbon installation for the Manchester Arts Festival, conceived by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Base Structures, known for its ability to realise particularly complex fabric architecture creations, offers the full range of interior fabric solutions including fabric cladding, screening and partitioning, solar shading, 3D and 2D art installations, suspended ceilings and canopies.
Brown’s appointment strengthens its interiors fabric division. Steve brings 30 years’ industry experience including 20 years in tensile fabric interiors and shading, latterly at Architen Landrell. His most notable projects include the Chanel Mobile Art Pavillion, Vodafone’s HQ and the interior cladding of Zvartnots International Airport.
“Base manages to strike that rare balance between creative thinking and the nuts and bolts of getting the job done,” said Steve Brown, Head of Interiors at Base Structures. “I particularly appreciate the ‘nothing is impossible’
mentality which means they continually innovate to create new and exciting effects for interiors.”
“Steve has extensive experience in this very specialist interior fabric field, backed by a degree in 3D Design and MA in Industrial Design. We’re delighted to have Steve on board. His skillset and experience are a great match for the standards that we set at Base Structures,” said John Dalton, Managing Director at Base Structures.
