(NEW YORK)(October 8, 2008) 'Tuesday I described Barack Obama's smear campaign against me as a man-bites-dog' moment in media and political history. John McCain and Sarah Palin have attacked Obama for his ties to terrorist William Ayers. Obama responded by smearing me with false accusations 25 years-old.
'Tuesday night [I only saw the video on Keith Olbermann late Wednesday evening] Obama and his communications director' Robert Gibbs engaged in a surreal moment on Fox News. Gibbs leveled vile accusations against Hannity and Fox News on the basis of a 25 year-old lawsuit in which I was never a party and in which I exposed widespread corruption and drug abuse in the Connecticut federal courts. If this is not bizarre, what is?
'Why is Gibbs abusing me to attack a news organization? Here are my opinions.
First, while Obama claims he can't remember' what he did 25 years ago, Gibbs and Obama are obsessed with what they claim I did 25 years ago. Peculiar. Nothing in Gibbs' smear attempt has even the remotest connection to anything in the 2008 campaign.
'Ironically, Obama is willing to overlook William Ayers' bombings, but Obama is not willing to overlook 25 year-old allegations against me which have been disproven. Once again, Obama shows his true colors. Anger. Vindictiveness. Maliciousness. Rage.
'Gibbs used stale accusations against me which have been debunked in court, as a means of harassing and intimidating the media. They were first aired on CBS' Forty-Eight Hours' fifteen years ago. Hannity may have been the first victim; but we now know what to expect of an Obama administration: Chavez-style intimidation of the press.
'Second, Hannity's program had already aired. What was Gibbs' real motive in attacking an old show? When has any TV program, let alone one broadcast on Sunday evening on a cable channel, ever become a massive media commotion? When? Sean Hannity and I hit the bulls eye, and Obama & Company know it.
'Obama began smearing me on national TV months ago, using his media poodle Alan Colmes and George Soros' tax-exempt organizations as fronts for his slime. Larry King also helped out.
'Third, I believe Gibbs was trying to intimidate media from covering Operation Aloha Obama,' which begins in six days. We have some powerful leads for our Hawaii team.
'Fourth, Gibbs was smearing me based on nothing I have written in the past quarter century. I must have led a pretty moral life if Gibbs could not find anything more current to slime me.
'Fifth, Barack Obama is an angry man who has been insulated from the American people by a cadre of Daley machine operatives and security guards. Obama's anger as a young man, which he confessed, continues today in his presidential campaign. If elected, he will carry his rage into the White House.
'In a strange way, Sean Hannity and I are the only two people in the media willing to stand up and tell the truth about Obama.
'Sixth, my disclosures and analysis about Obama were apparently completely correct, and were the first time anyone on national television connected the dots' of the radical operations that have been a part of Obama's life since adolescence. Obama, Gibbs and Axelrod must be terrified of me.
'Seventh, Axelrod knows how I repeatedly successfully exposed corruption in Chicago and Illinois a third of a century ago, and helped send crooked judges to federal prison. And so Axelrod is trying to slime me to avoid having to answer questions about Obama's radical past. This is standard operating procedure for Axelrod and Obama. Obama slimed his primary opponent in 2004. He slimed his first general election opponent in 2004. A few weeks ago he started sliming John McCain. It won't work with me.
'David Axelrod can confirm, since he was a Chicago Tribune reporter at the time, my track record of fighting and documenting corruption, in Chicago and Cook County, in Illinois state government, and across the nation. Does Obama have any similar accomplishments? Perhaps that's why Axelrod is afraid of me. He has known me for decades.
'Most certainly I have made powerful enemies with my exposures, and they have relentlessly attacked me. They have never intimidated me.
'I have spent a lifetime fighting and exposing corruption and abuses in government, the courts and corporate life [www.AndyMartin.com]. Obama has spent his entire adult life groveling at the Daley Machine's table, endorsing corruption and pretending to be a reformer so he could serve as a front' for evil people. I can't say if Obama is a dupe; but I have no doubt he is a front.
'Eighth, while I can't speak for Sean Hannity, I believe Obama' attacks against me are a sign of weakness, not strength. Sunday night we hit Obama's powder magazine. My research is continuing. Interestingly, Gibbs attacked me on TV but he failed to answer or contradict either my evidence or my conclusions. Gibbs would rather use 25 year-old nonsense to smear me instead of telling the truth about Barack Obama's sordid college years, when he apparently joined a radical cell with William Ayers and Bernadine Dorn. I consider Gibbs's personal attacks on me as complete vindication of my research, my evidence and my expert opinions.
'Ninth, as for Keith Olbermann, Thursday I will be releasing defamation notices that are being sent to NBC news and Olbermann personally. Olbermann has every right to criticize me. But he has no right to accuse me of vile behavior based on a 25 year-old lawsuit where I have repeatedly documented the falsity of the accusations.
'Olbermann's conduct is as scurrilous as if I attacked Olbermann for his political views based on the Olbermann's alleged sexual problems that have been reported in the media. Olbermann's alleged sexual problems and his political views have no connection; and reports about him are a lot more current than 25 years-old.
'Thirty-one years ago I settled a defamation claim against NBC News with a substantial payment, and without filing a lawsuit. I will make every effort to avoid a lawsuit. But I will not shrink from litigation.
'I would also point out that neither Obama nor Olbermann made any attempt to check the truth or falsity of their accusations. For over a quarter of a century I have been represented by Connecticut's foremost civil liberties lawyer, John R. Williams of New Haven. Mr. Williams would probably be willing to speak with any media about me and what I am and what I am not. I have authorized him to do so. Olbermann apparently would rather print lies than research the truth. I challenge anyone who is interested in pursuing this matter to call attorney Williams (203) 562-9931.
'Finally, what is fascinating about this battle is the way Obama's team' is trying to divert attention from his clandestine relationship with William Ayers by demonizing me and Sean Hannity. I can't speak for Hannity but I am energized, not intimidated, by Obama's tactics. I am more convinced than ever that this angry poseur is unfit to serve in public office, let alone in the presidency.
'Six days from now, we launch Operation Aloha Obama' in Honolulu. The truth about who Barack Obama really is will finally emerge.
'I repeat what I said last month. Bill Ayers is the mastermind behind Barack Obama. A vote for Barack Obama is a vote to put William Ayers in clandestine control of the federal government.'
