Swoope has more than 10 years of experience in business development and commercial banking, most recently serving as vice president and business banking officer with Chevy Chase Bank in Arlington, Va. In this role, Swoope focused on growing a new department within the bank, generated new business from the small business market and educated branch employees about small business banking products. He was also responsible for providing commercial lending support to seven branches and working with external partners to provide banking services such as payroll and merchant services.

Prior to working with Chevy Chase Bank, Swoope was an entrepreneur, owning and managing Sherwood Gourmet, a restaurant in Alexandria, Va., and Liberty Trading Company in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Alexandria, Va.

Swoope earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa.
