2008-07-08 09:45:17 - What is Travel Medicine?

As international travel has grown exponentially over the past few decades, the field of Travel Medicine was created as a unique multidisciplinary specialty.

It involves several medical practices working in conjunction, including preventive and curative medicine, tropical medicine, infectious disease, and internal medicine, with the primary goal of diagnosing and treating travel-related disease as well as promoting safe and healthy travel.

Our Services

1. Diagnosis and Treatment of travel-related diseases and accidents. We are a fully equipped tertiary care hospital with full range of laboratory

and radiological facilities. If you are currently traveling in the region and fall sick, we have the expertise needed to diagnose all tropical medicine and travel-related diseases and get you on the appropriate treatment.

If you have recently returned from your travels and fall sick, it may be from disease that may have been contracted away from home. We have access to data on disease epidemics and patterns of emerging diseases across the globe and have familiarity with treating diseases contracted from just about anywhere in the world.

2. Travel vaccinations (including rabies immunoglobulin) and Certification of vaccinations in accordance to World Health Organization (WHO) and Center of Disease Control (CDC) of USA guidelines.

3. Travel consultations this involves meeting with a travel medicine doctor prior to your trip or after your arrival to Thailand to discuss medical and vaccination history, as well as travel destinations in order to identify all potential health concerns you may encounter along the way. Your doctor will identify and explain the risks associated with your trip, and recommend specific measures to reduce them. This includes the administration of routine, recommended, and required vaccinations as well as recommendations for appropriate preventive medication.

Who do we look after?
